Chartering

Whether You Have Cargo or a Vessel, We Close the Gap

01 — CHARTERERS & CARGO OWNERS

For Charterers & Cargo Owners

You need suitable, compliant tonnage on your dates and at a workable rate. We source vessels that match your cargo, ports and laycan. We screen them for condition and suitability, and we negotiate terms that protect your interests.

02 — SHIPOWNERS & OPERATORS

For Shipowners & Operators

Idle days cost money. We find employment for your vessel, whether spot voyages, period time charters or longer-term contracts. We match it with reliable charterers and negotiate hire, freight and terms that reflect the market.

Chartering Services

Chartering Solutions We Arrange

01

Voyage Charter

Your cargo carried between named ports for an agreed freight. The owner runs the vessel and pays voyage costs. We negotiate freight, laytime, demurrage and cargo terms so there are no surprises at discharge.

02

Time Charter

A vessel on hire for an agreed period at a daily rate. The charterer directs employment and pays voyage costs, while the owner keeps the vessel crewed and maintained. This suits charterers with regular cargo flows or trading programmes.

03

Bareboat Charter

Long-term hire of a vessel without crew. The charterer takes full operational and technical control. It is suited to operators building capacity without buying tonnage, and we can support the operation through our Ship Management team.

04

Contract of Affreightment (COA)

A fixed volume of cargo moved over a defined period, with the owner free to nominate suitable vessels. It is efficient for shippers with steady, predictable volumes.

05

Offshore Vessel Chartering

OSVs, crew boats, tugs and support tonnage for offshore energy and marine projects, on spot or term contracts, with vessels screened for client audit and project requirements.

06

Sale & Purchase

Support for owners buying or selling second-hand tonnage, including vessel identification, inspection coordination and negotiation.

FAQS

Chartering & Broking FAQs

Under a voyage charter, the owner carries a specific cargo between named ports for an agreed freight and pays the voyage costs. Under a time charter, the charterer hires the vessel for a period at a daily hire rate, directs its employment and pays voyage costs such as bunkers and port dues. The owner still crews and maintains the vessel.
A bareboat (demise) charter hands the vessel to the charterer without crew, usually for a long period. The charterer is responsible for crewing, operation and most technical costs, and effectively acts as owner for the duration.
Cargo type and quantity, load and discharge ports, laycan (the earliest and latest dates for loading), preferred charter type, and any special requirements such as vessel age, gear or vetting approvals.
Laytime is the time allowed in the charter party for loading and discharging. If it is exceeded, the charterer pays demurrage to the owner at an agreed daily rate. If cargo operations finish early, despatch may be payable to the charterer, where agreed.
Brokerage is normally a commission, calculated as a percentage of freight or hire and paid by the owner under the charter party. The rate is agreed at fixture and stated in the charter party.
We screen every vessel on age, class status, P&I cover, certificates and recent inspection history. Where required, we arrange pre-charter or on-hire/off-hire condition surveys.
Yes. Share your vessel’s particulars and open position, and we will present it to suitable charterers for spot or period employment.
We work with recognised industry standard forms suited to the trade and charter type, amended to reflect the negotiated terms.
